Corporate Counsel, Employment, Litigation and Regulatory The candidate will be primarily responsible for employment, litigation and regulatory matters for Japan. Will draft and review employment policies and agreements and other labor related documentation; provide day-to-day employment law and compliance counseling; administer and resolve litigation and other legal disputes including labor and non-labor disputes; manage investigations and other regulatory matters, and provide training on employment and compliance related matters. Also participate in firm’s other legal projects as directed.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) from a leading university or Law school. Must be licensed to practice law in Japan or US or other common law jurisdiction. Must have 5+ years of legal experience (with several years of experience at a leading global law firm and/or in-house at a major multinational corporation). Substantial experience in handling litigation and regulatory matters and experience with labor and employment matters is required. Excellent language capability including the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in Japanese as well as in English is essential. Familiarity with US or other common law legal systems is preferred. Experience in antitrust matters is preferred. Also, 7+ years of legal experience preferred.
