Counsel, Litigation Candidate will provide legal analysis on a broad array of healthcare matters both ERISA and non-ERISA and rapidly identifies key issues. Accurately analyzes risks and recommends alternative approaches. Develops and maintains strong knowledge of regulatory environment affecting business. Works with company’s Service Operations, Compliance, and Public Affairs areas to provide counsel on external and internal messaging on complex and sensitive matters. Efficiently resolves legal issues without guidance. Effectively manages relationships with outside counsel, clients and senior level management. Candidate will be responsible for providing advice and counsel to company’s domestic health care businesses on a broad array of healthcare issues, including fraud and abuse. Work closely with company’s Services Operations as well as other knowledgeable, experienced internal clients to provide creative, pro-active, solution-oriented advice to support and protect business goals and objectives. Will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong understanding of the key aspects of both business operations and strategy to effectively advise clients on substantive health care, insurance and legal issues facing in litigation.
Qualification and Experience
Candidate should have a J.D. degree and Bar membership. Law degree and 5+ years of corporate litigation or law firm experience in the healthcare field is a must. Experience in the courtroom actually litigating healthcare matters is essential. Working knowledge of ERISA is required.
