Counsel, Vice President The candidate will work in the Bank Regulatory and Compliance Legal Group at a global financial institution. Provide counsel and legal support for the financial institution’s enterprise-wide corporate compliance department. Responsibilities include providing support to the Ethics and Privacy Offices and other areas of the compliance department as required. Develop strong relationships, and work closely with enterprise-wide compliance department and business unit personnel to support expanding ethics and privacy compliance programs globally. Monitor for and analyze changes to applicable laws and regulations that impact the financial institution’s operations and personnel in the areas of ethics and privacy, including developing a strong understanding of supervisory regulators’ expectations for the financial institution’s compliance programs in the numerous jurisdictions in which the financial institution operates. Provide support for new business initiatives. Coordinate work with outside legal counsel in various jurisdictions on related projects. Provide counsel and support to legal colleagues in other legal groups on ethics and privacy compliance issues that arise in the context of client contract negotiations. Provide support, as needed, in other areas outside of the corporate compliance department that are supported by the Bank Regulatory and Compliance Legal group. Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and 5+ years of experience with a major U.S. or international law firm or in-house at a global institution practicing in the areas of financial services regulation required. Experience working with or at global financial institutions preferred. Strong: research, time management, planning and organizational skills; client service, problem-solving, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required.
