Revenue Assurance Manager The candidate will lead the processes and controls associated with the review of revenue associated with customer contracts. This will consist primarily of reading and approving new contracts, understanding from business partners within firm new offerings that will be presented to prospective new customers or existing customers, and working closely with Sales Operations, Billing Operations, Account Management, and Sales with respect to complex customer arrangements in order to ensure appropriate revenue treatment both up-front when a new contract is signed and on a continuous basis as the customer relationship evolves. Own the process for understanding and determining the reserves required for revenue in each reporting period. Responsible for the Company’s adherence to ASC 605 and ASC 606 guidance. Work with Sales Operations and Legal to review drafts of contracts up-front in order to educate Sales, Sales Operations, Billing Operations, Legal, and other stakeholders within the organization of revenue-related implications of certain contractual terms, offerings, pricing mechanisms, or other impactful characteristics of the arrangements. Work with various teams within the Company to understand new service offerings that may be presented in the market and work with the Revenue team to establish revenue policies associated with these offerings. Establish relationships with key stakeholders within the organization associated with our largest and most complex customer arrangements in order to ensure appropriate consideration of accounting. Perform contract reviews for customer contracts to ensure compliance with the Company’s accounting and operational policies. Work with Sales and Sales Operations to countersign agreements with customers using echosign or manually as requested. Work closely with internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audit. Create or modify revenue related internal controls as needed. Maintain appropriate documentation of internal controls. Perform certain monitoring controls associated with new deals to ensure compliance with established policies. Prepare required analyses, schedules, and documentation for quarterly and annual reporting periods, including analyses supporting revenue reserves in the period. Ad hoc projects to be determined as they arise (e.g., acquisitions, changes in revenue financial accounting standards).
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have CPA, JD degree, or have multiple years of experience in a contract review role. Should have 5+ years of relevant experience. CPA must have Big 4 experience; J.D. must have experience with business law or customers contracts; experience in a previous contract review role must include revenue or legal consultation experience. Bachelor’s degree or higher required; accounting, business, or legal degree is preferred. Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and SOX 404 controls is desired.
