Contract Specialist The candidate will be responsible for performing contract assignments in support of all company businesses. As a member of the proposal team, support proposal development, providing input that promotes clarity in the offering and reduces business risk. Ensure solicitation terms are acceptable and favorable, and identify terms which present unusual risk. Ensure that proposals and contracts are reviewed and approved by appropriate personnel. As a member of the program team, manage contract and delivery order modifications by tracking and communicating them to the Program Managers (PM). Identify changes in scope of work and support the change proposal process. Provide support to PM as requested; take notes during customer / contractor meetings. Present detailed information; compose memoranda, minutes and reports; and draft official contract correspondence and supporting documents in established format(s). Act as the primary interface to the customer’s contracting office. As a member of the legal team, support development and maintenance of standard documentation and processes. Work to identify business risk and support development of mitigation plans. Schedule / coordinate the government transportation of weapons from origin to delivery order destination. Manage and improve the system used to link the Radio-frequency identification (RFID) tracker to weapons by serial number. Report and obtain approval from Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) for weapon shipments by weapon serial number. Schedule Defense Contracting Management Agency (DCMA) lot acceptance audits via Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) eBusiness Suite. Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or related field, or 4-6 years of equivalent and relevant experience in the defense industry required. 6+ years of experience in the defense industry with a strong understanding of contract management/administration required. Master’s degree in a business field or JD, or 8+ years of equivalent and relevant experience in the firearms industry or in the firearms industry with a strong understanding of contract management/administration preferred. Familiarity with International Contracting terms preferred.
