Assistant General Counsel The candidate will provide support on major global legal initiatives such as support for the Sales team, including drafting and negotiating contracts, refining standard agreements and developing best practices; and support for the IT, Technology and Security teams. Advise and assist more junior attorneys on the legal team. Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, including software, customer and complex supplier contracts, as needed. Refine standard agreements and develop best processes for existing aspects of the business. Interface with and provide support to a team of contracts negotiators. Provide legal support to the IT, Technology and Security teams. Proactively identify and mitigate any areas of risk. Advise company leaders on legal matters impacting the business. Serve as a resource for contract negotiators and more junior attorneys on the legal team. Assist with internal reporting requirements and legal department budget oversight. JD degree from a top tier law school with strong academic performance and active and in good standing of at least one state bar required. 8-10 years of recent, relevant, proven legal experience with a major law firm and/or in-house; significant transactional experience; experience with SaaS and/or in the communications or wireless technology industry is strongly preferred. Experience with and proficiency in location based services and related laws, regulations and industry rules is preferred. Exceptionally strong written and oral communication skills required. Proven ability: to professionally manage time, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and process a high volume of work in a timely and accurate manner with a high attention to detail; to work independently and autonomously, as well as part of a team; to spot problems and develop and lead implementation of appropriate solutions required. Ability: to interact comfortably with all levels of personnel and enforce legal requirements without alienating clients; to work with junior attorneys to provide feedback and promote their development required. Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, MS Office, etc.) required.
