Corporate Attorney The candidate will provide legal advice and counsel to the company with respect to commercial and regulatory matters. This role will lead legal issues related to general commercial contracts and support a variety of functions with regulatory compliance, litigation, trademarks and other related activities. The Corporate Attorney will interact with and influence internal associates, vendors, and members of the business community. Advise the business on legal implications of regulations, as they pertain to the company. Provide counsel on general commercial and contract matters, including complex vendor, customer and employment contracts. Ensure company policies, procedures, agreements and practices comply with all regulatory requirements. Perform general legal research, review and counsel for projects and strategic initiatives. Provide review and counsel on real property purchase, sale and leasing transactions. Support intellectual property and trademark protection processes. Support the company’s approach toward litigation and other proceedings to which the company is a party or potentially a party. Foster effective relationships with external providers of legal services on an ongoing basis. Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Legal & Compliance on enterprise risk management. Review and interpret legislation and provide advice and guidance on the impact to the business to leadership. Anticipate and guard against legal risks facing the Company. Partner with the business to recommend company policy and position on legal issues including determination of training needs relating to legal compliance. Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctorate required. Admission in good standing to the State Bar required. 7+ years of corporate and/or professional law experience required. Experience: with contracts, including retail real estate transaction and leases required; with establishing regulatory compliance requirements across an organization preferred; with intellectual property protection, including patents, preferred. Exposure to international manufacturing and supply chain preferred. Knowledge: of federal, state and local laws; of anti-trust, price discrimination and unfair competition issues beneficial required. Strong verbal and written communication skills including demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills required.
