Contract Manager The candidate will have to develop and maintain comprehensive library of agreement templates to support Sourcing activity, collaborating closely with Counsel, and ensure alignment where necessary with global contract standards and templates. Manage spreadsheets and other contract repositories. Develop workflows and business case to expand usage of contracts system and functionality. Design process for timely and consistent uploading of contracts. Develop and maintain document retention guidelines. Provide expertise and leadership in drafting and negotiation of master service agreements or other high level, comprehensive legal agreements with strategic suppliers. Revise, design and update agreements and change orders. Negotiate and execute statements of work, individual project agreements, change orders, etc. with Contract Research Organizations and similar clinical service providers. Develop negotiating position and timeline, engage with suppliers, and provide management updates on contract status. Work with relevant functions to draft, negotiate and execute key opinion leader (KOL) and healthcare professional (HCP) contracts. Develop guidelines and templates to assure that all such contracts and related payments comply with all applicable reporting, financial and transparency requirements. Work with relevant functions and project teams across the business to draft, negotiate and execute professional service, and other agreements as assigned by management. Develop guidelines and templates regarding such contracts. In liaison with Legal Counsel, ensure intellectual property is adequately protected in all client interactions, using confidential disclosure provisions and agreements as necessary. Serve as subject matter expert and primary source of contact for contracting best practices. Provide training related to contracts as needed. Legal matters will be supervised by Legal Department. Perform other departmental duties, as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a B.A. /B.S. in life sciences, business administration, finance, or other relevant field and Paralegal or J.D., with 5-10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry, of which minimum of 5 years’ experience in contract management (outsourcing or procurement acceptable if major focus was on contracting). In-depth knowledge and understanding of contract management in CRO, related technology, pharmaceutical development and marketing. Thorough understanding of industry best practices related to HCP contracting and payment reporting. Experience with training related to contracts. Experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment. Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and analytical skills. The ability to lead, influences, and communicate effectively with all levels of staff, mgt and clients. Competency in Microsoft office software, high level of excel proficiency. Competency in and experience with contract management systems.
