Contracts Administrator Duties: Support the Operations Administration Service Department for its Oakland location. Assists in handling various employment contract issues in conjunction with Manager, Contract Administration, Sr. Vice President, Administrative Services and Physician Relations & Sr. Associate Counsel and Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs. Report on and analyze significant changes in contractual terms impacting the UPP. Work with non-departmental staff in the collection of information necessary to evaluate employment contract opportunities. Assists in the procurement and tracking of special opinion letters and special salary caps. Provide review and analysis of offers of employment and Faculty Compensation Change Forms to ensure compliance with legal requirements and policy. Drafts Employment Agreements and Amendments with special attention to issues involving immigration regulations and policies and enforceability of restrictive covenants Act as liaison between legal counsel and Department Administrators to respond to questions that arise concerning contractual rights, obligations, and other contractual matters. Assess existing contracts to ascertain the effectiveness of automatic renewal and termination provisions, and ensure the departments are notified timely regarding employment contracts that will be coming up for renewal. Assist with maintenance of a database for employment contract administration. Responsible for the generation of customized employment agreement terms and conditions in accordance with established organization guidelines and templates. Primary liaison between PSD Legal, PSD Administration and clinical departments on matters relating to employment agreements for clinical providers. Develop a strong rapport with clinical department staff and serve as a trusted internal liaison for clinical departments. Advise clinical department administrators on employment contracting policies, procedures, and legal issues. Provides analysis and detailed reviews of existing employment agreements, and suggests practical and innovative ways to address unusual or difficult employment agreement requirements. Maintains the employment agreement files, an employment agreement database and works on additional projects to support Departments, PSD Administration and PSD Legal. Identify and resolve potential employment agreement issues in consultation with the Manager, Contract Administration, and others, as necessary. Manage multiple ongoing projects, while maintaining a calm, collected and professional demeanor in a fast-paced and stressful environment. Assists with the drafting, review and implementation of group and individualized incentive compensation plans for clinical providers employed. Responsible for understanding and advising how clinical provider's employment arrangements interact with incentive plans and other business operations.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science with a major in business or related field required; J.D. Degree preferred. Working knowledge of contracting, regulations in healthcare and general legal principles related to contracts. Must have analytical and problem solving skills as well as the ability to coordinate with others and communicate effectively with various management levels within the organization. In addition, candidate must understand health system implications of the contract process. Must have a working knowledge of PC based systems (excel, Databases, etc.). Ability to work in fast-paced office and meet deadlines, as directed by the Manager, Contract Administration.
