Senior Counsel - Integrated Supply Chain Duties: Will be a member of the company’s commercial practice group. The practice group provides day-to-day support for contracts and commercial law, negotiating complex transactions, etc. that arise from the day-to-day operations of a large, fast-paced organization. Provides legal services to protect the best interests of the company, as well as the integrity, reputation, assets, officers and employees, while ensuring that the company operates in compliance with the laws. As a member of the Procurement leadership team, provides strategic advice and counsel to leadership team and key procurement stakeholders by engaging with them to identify, develop, and implement strategies in area of responsibility to manage risks to the company’s interests and resources. provides similar support to additional integrated supply chain groups, such as contractual support to the customer service and logistics group. Applies experience and expertise to commercial transaction matters, including day-to-day contract counseling; advises stakeholders of potential risks in contractual areas and proposes risk mitigation strategies; provides creative and legally sound solutions for resolution of disputes with commercial business partners. Effectively drafts, negotiates, and reviews commercial contracts, including product supply agreements, technology agreements, consulting agreements, confidentiality agreements and other business and legal documents. Assigns and manages outside counsel as necessary. Manages legal resources (e.g., commercial contract attorneys) who provide services directly to key stakeholders. Identifies legal training needs and requirements, particularly related to contract matters; develops and delivers training as appropriate. Updates current contract templates and develops new templates, as necessary, for use by key stakeholders.

Qualification and Experience

Qualification Requirements: A J.D. degree from an accredited law school and top academic credentials. 10+ years of related experience with commercial transactions, including preparation and review of commercial contracts. Prior major law firm experience and in-house experience preferred. Experience within the food industry is a plus. Excellent management skills and business judgment with a capacity to make decisions and give advice, which demonstrates an understanding of overall business objectives and the risks/rewards of each situation. Strong research and writing skills, and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a non-legal audience, are required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Mentoring/development of junior members of the team.
