Contract Manager The candidate will serve as part of a national contracts team. Will be expected to work independently, but will have the opportunity to work as part of a larger national working group, which meets regularly to collaborative and share insights and best practices. Collaborating with a group of highly trained multidisciplinary engineers, architects and other technical professionals. Exposure to a variety of regional and national projects of significant scale, scope and complexity. Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating of professional services (engineering, architecture, environmental, and other technical services) and construction related agreements Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating prime contracts, subcontracts, joint venture agreements, teaming agreements, and non-disclosure agreements Providing concise contract review summary of the observed risk items in light of the company policies Working cooperatively with diverse group of professionals, including the company’s executives, attorneys, risk and insurance managers, engineers, scientists and contracts staff, as well as the ability to work with attorneys for external clients and subcontractors, risk managers, project managers, procurement and contracts staff, and others Using an online database to document the review and coordinate work with other members of the contracts review team Utilizes internal legal resources and other subject matter experts to ensure all levels of risk are recognized and subsequently addressed through development of unique contract terms and conditions to mitigate such risks.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. JD Degree preferred. 5+ years of demonstrated contract experience with a major engineering firm, contractor or law firm in the areas of engineering and construction contracts. Well-developed communications skills; able to clearly and concisely express legal issues and analysis as it pertains to business and technical concerns to executive management, commercial and finance colleagues, technical colleagues and peers. Self-driven & resourceful to achieve goals independently and in groups. Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities. Ability to generate ideas, make recommendations & come to a consensus. Excellent writing and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines effectively and efficiently. Ability to balance pursuit of good contract terms with reality of business demands. Ability to demonstrate creativity in reaching agreement with clients and subcontractors. Ability to assess risk related to contract/commercial terms and advise internal clients in developing risk management and mitigation plans. High degree of professionalism. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in negotiation with outside counsels and business representatives within client organizations and government agencies. Experience in reviewing and negotiating professional services agreements while adhering to company policies and procedures. A skilled negotiator with the ability to conduct non-adversarial, win-win negotiations.
