Senior Contracts Manager The candidate will oversee the negotiating, structuring, and management of contractual documents that establish business relationships with suppliers, service providers, and landlords. Review documents for protection of the company's contractual posture and adherence to company policy, local statutes and federal law. Advise management of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions and consults with the legal department to ensure the company has preserved its rights, while limiting its liabilities. Provide advice and assistance in the preparation of Statements of Work; Development of Service Level Agreements; Construction of Letters of Intent and Market and company reviews in preparation for major negotiations; Financial analysis of both public and private companies; Development of strategies and agenda’s prior to major contract negotiations; Translation of customer quality requirements into supplier deliverables; Negotiating points and tools as an assist for Commodity Managers; Capital equipment negotiations; Identify and mitigate risks connected with non-standard conditions and supplier changes in proposed contractual documents; seek to discover unstated needs and expectations and communicate concerns and issues clearly to the organization; Serve as liaison between company and subcontractors to implement fulfillment of contracts. Manage and communicate risks associated with contracts. Coordinate activities with businesses and technical support. Lead and coordinate communication efforts with suppliers, team members, company experts and advisors (legal, risk, tax, supplier qualification, etc). Measure the effectiveness of sourcing strategies and ensures alignment with overall corporate objectives. Achieve cost avoidance and cost savings targets. Develop, implement and monitor global contracting practices and procedures. Mentor others in contract administration and negotiation techniques and strategies.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor’s Degree in Contract Management; Business or a highly related field (MBA/J.D. degree a plus). Must have progressive experience in contracts administration in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience; Strong communication, negotiation and leadership skills are needed.
