Supply Chain Manager III The candidate manages spend categories and develops supply chain strategies for high risk and highly regulated, complex products, services, and suppliers who have significant strategic business impacts. Works with senior management and key stakeholders across the Consumer Lending Group and the Enterprise (when applicable) to determine the long-term needs and applicable supply / service strategies. Partners with business groups to issue/evaluate RFx and conduct reverse auctions. Leads strategic and acquisition-related sourcing and contracting activities or enterprise expense reduction initiatives. In collaboration with senior business stakeholders, determines negotiation strategy and controls all aspects of contracts negotiations. Customizes legal language and drafts non-standard contract terms and conditions. Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Establishes e-business (procure-to-pay), diversity, environmental and supply chain cost reduction strategies to continually improve category effectiveness and efficiencies. Identifies and drives TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) process improvements to reduce costs. Acts as the primary liaison for current and potential suppliers; resolves systemic/recurring supplier/customer issues. Responsible for meeting all vendor management program requirements and policy compliance. In collaboration with senior business stakeholders, develops performance metrics and monitors supplier performance. Proactively identifies and escalates risk-related issues and presents resolution options. Accountable for category savings targets for multiple categories and supplier performance measurements. Develops and delivers management reporting. May provide management or direction to other supply chain managers.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should ideally have Graduate Degree (J.D., MBA or Supply Chain Management). Must have 10+ years of experience in supply chain and/or procurement. Should have experience and expertise driving negotiations, supplier contracting, sourcing, providing cost and expense analysis and leveraging products and services across a highly mature, integrated and complex supply base. 4+ years of prior experience sourcing and contracting for technology (Software, ASP, Development) and/or professional services is preferred. Supply chain or purchasing certification (e.g. CPM or CSCP) is a plus. Cross-industry sourcing, negotiation, and benchmarking experience including prior financial services industry work and a strong understanding of associated regulatory requirements regarding acquisition of goods/services and how they may relate to financial services customer-facing products and services is required. Must have strong knowledge of commodity and supplier industry conditions, trends, opportunities, and cost/market driver components to source assigned categories. Extensive experience proactively developing strategies and presenting supply chain options, reports and status updates to stakeholders at all levels of the organization is needed. Should have experience monitoring, managing, and improving supplier performance through continuous improvement programs and structured business reviews. Tier 1 Financial Services (or other highly regulated industry experience) and a strong understanding of associated financial services regulatory requirements regarding acquisition of goods/services and how they may relate to financial services customer-facing products and services is preferred. Should ideally have strong understanding of large diversified Financial Services organizations operations that provide banking, insurance, investments, consumer lending, investment banking, retail banking, brokerage and consumer financial services in order to provide superior support to the Consumer Lending line of business. Strong understanding of the credit reporting agency products and services, including utilization of credit data for internal fulfillment is desired. Experience monitoring, managing, and improving supplier performance through continuous improvement programs and structured business reviews is a plus. Consumer Lending industry experience and/or knowledge (e.g., Credit Bureaus, Credit Cards, Servicing, Rewards, Credit Lending Risk, industry standard platforms, etc.) is preferred. Consulting experience with top-tier consulting firm is desired. Experience building a supply chain practice from the ground up (process, procedure, tools, organizational design, chain management, senior level communications and reporting, etc) is helpful.
