Vice President, Content Acquisition The candidate will lead negotiations to secure content licensing agreements with the necessary rights to support company's current and future businesses. Will prepare term sheets, talking points, deal memos, and other materials in support of the deal process. Develop the strategy for negotiations in coordination with key stakeholders at company, working collaboratively with company's video business and cable legal teams in securing such agreements. Act as the key stakeholder in understanding company's rights portfolio and oversee contract administration and compliance assurance. Assist in the development of advertising platforms and manage advertising rights with content owners in collaboration with Canoe and Spotlight teams. Provide internal guidance on issues surrounding content security and digital rights management. Understand and assist in internal communications/education regarding emerging technologies, platforms and business models to senior executives. Bachelor's degree is required. MBA or J.D. degree is preferred. Must have 6-8 years of experience in the cable television industry or programming development. Substantial experience in direct contract negotiations and business strategy is needed. Should have a strong awareness of current and emerging platforms/technology/trends and how those relate to content licensing; including knowledge of advertising sales and operations, user interface rights, security restrictions, digital rights management (DRM), and content authentication.
