Associate Corporate Counsel The candidate will negotiate, drafting and reviewing a wide range of commercial contracts, including commercial leases, supplier agreements, non-disclosure agreements, joint venture agreements, sales terms and conditions, distributor agreements, licensing and sponsorship agreements while striving to continually improve the company's contract process. Other responsibilities within the legal department may be assigned depending on business demands. Will report to the Chief Legal Counsel. Ensure all contracting processes are followed, which includes obtaining and documenting necessary approvals required in connection with each contract. Facilitate the resolution of legal issues and formulating recommendations using analysis and the development of new approaches to enable contract execution in accordance with company policies and procedures. Contribute to the development and on-going review of relevant processes, guidelines and procedures relating to the company's commercial contracting practices. Work closely with key stakeholders and executive leadership and advise on a variety of legal issues including vendor negotiations, technology licensing agreements, intellectual property, product safety and sourcing. Provide positive and collaborative relationships with third parties throughout the negotiating and contracting process. Maintain contract management system to track and maintain the company's contracts. Ensure compliance with applicable laws.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Law degree from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice in Florida or eligible to register as in-house counsel. Must have 3+ years of experience negotiating and drafting a wide-range of contracts. Should be able to draft a agreements from the ground up. In-house counsel experience is preferred. Prior consumer products experience a plus. Excellent legal writing skills are required. Must be bilingual (English/Spanish) with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
