Profile

Assistant General Counsel The candidate will be structuring, drafting, reviewing, negotiating and providing advice with regard to a wide range of agreements and documents relating to business transactions involving the company, including general commercial contracts supporting the global distribution, logistics and transportation, facilities operations and support services functions of firm and its global subsidiaries. Identifying legal issues, providing analysis of legal risks, creating and implementing solutions structured to achieve business objectives efficiently. Preparing and delivering training programs designed to enhance compliance and avoid litigation. Selecting, retaining and managing outside legal counsel to ensure high-value, cost-effective representation. Working closely with the Global Contracting Office to develop templates, playbooks and processes to support the efficient delivery of legal services in the subject areas you support. Supporting other department needs as necessary

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have JD degree and member, in good standing, of at least one U.S. State Bar and willingness to commit to membership in the Oregon State Bar. Should have 5-7 years’ experience in the practice of general business law with a focus on logistics, transportation, distribution, facilities and general procurement as well as information technology and intellectual property transactions Law firm or in-house experience in several of the following specialty areas is preferred: general commercial contracts, supply chain, transportation and logistics, facilities operations and support services, customs. Experience in a corporate legal department is desired. Experience in international business transactions is a plus. Fluency in foreign language is preferred.
