Profile

Manager Sourcing and Contracting Services The candidate will be responsible for managing the medical/surgical product portfolio, driving cost reduction initiatives throughout firm and acting as a consultant to and supporting resource for the clinical and non-clinical areas. Will work on negotiates and develops mutually acceptable contract terms with supply chain vendors. Responsible for establishing, developing and maintaining relationships with the hospital's strategic suppliers. Establishes and manages a portfolio of Master Contracts with key vendors (total value approximately $50 million) with the objective of standardizing and simplifying the procurement process, thereby contributing to cost management objectives. Direct the activities of Strategic Sourcing and Contracting Services, consistent with hospital policies and procedures. Ensure that products and services selected for use consistent with the institution's Best Patient Experience and Exceptional Financial Performance strategies. Establish annual and long term program and service goals consistent with overall firm’s goals and strategies. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, and effect changes as needed to improve or respond to changing conditions. Develop strategies and systems to support the responsible use of firm’s resources and support overall firm’s financial goals. Examples include product standardization, utilization reviews, and competitive bidding. Develop, in conjunction with OGC, firm’s agreement templates and version updates for operational contracting requirements, including, product consignment, product evaluations, and lease arrangements. Facilitate the proper usage of documentation throughout firm. Develop and update contracting policies and procedures to ensure contract consistency, standardization, and centralization throughout firm. Negotiate and manage the portfolio of supply chain contracts and financial agreements; Negotiate contractual terms for Non-GPO supplies, capital, and purchased services with supply chain vendors. Work with staff and other members of the Supply Chain department to ensure integration of Contracting efforts with Sourcing activities; Working with the Sourcing team, understand the customer's business requirements, advise customers on the business risks associated with their contracts, and negotiate appropriate business protections per the objectives of firm. Represent firm’s to Group Purchasing Organizations utilized by firm , providing feedback regarding programs and opportunities for utilization and cost reduction. Evaluate aggregate vendor spend and current contract performance to make recommendations regarding cost containment and savings opportunities to supply chain leadership. Develop and negotiate corporate level/master contracts with key vendors. Identify and build relationships with key vendor counterparts. Conduct quarterly business reviews with key vendors to validate contract compliance, ensure market competitive pricing, and contain future supply expenses in light of new technologies or product conversions. Maintain timely, necessary, and appropriate communication with the Office of General Counsel, the Director of Supply Chain and Operations, firm’s Directors and Managers, and supplier's Counsel and Contracting Managers on current contract status and areas of concern. Collaborate with the Office of General Counsel validating their position on open legal provisions, gathering all supply chain contract exhibits, and filtering all suggested contract revisions to the appropriate supplier Manager or associated Counsel. Maintain a contract reporting mechanism for senior management tracking contract performance, status and potential associated liabilities; Monitor compliance with contractual terms and conditions and provide guidance in dispute resolutions with firm’s vendors. Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Management, Finance, or Healthcare; Masters in Business Administration or Juris Doctorate. Should have 5+ years of relevant experience in a consulting firm, healthcare organization or contracting department negotiating a substantial contract portfolio. Should have project management experience in large organizations working on complex initiatives with an emphasis on program development and documented results. Should have a thorough understanding of business contracting principles. Should have proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or Microsoft Access.
