SR Legal Counsel I The candidate will provide advice and counsel involving legal and regulatory issues of varying levels of complexity. Represent the company in legal disputes, lawsuits, regulatory and governmental matters, and analytical processes and business transactions. Provide legal advice and counsel in legal specialty with intermediate level of financial and legal risk. Has more advanced and experienced legal abilities in a specific narrow area (i.e., intellectual property, licensing and contracts) but more generic legal skills and abilities in other matters; may have more responsibility for complex assignments, and may assume a more senior role on projects, primarily as a subject matter expert in their specific expertise. Coordinate with management; negotiates and drafts all levels of contracts, including complex contracts. Exercise a greater degree of process control and functions with a high level of management confidence; may be called on by Senior Management for specific subject matter expertise (i.e., information expert). Manage the workflow and supervises litigations and management of outside counsel. May handle multiple complex large scale end to end projects at the same time. May participate or assist in the development and implementation of corporate wide policies and strategies. Work directly with outside counsel to coordinate legal advice. Advise management on recent changes in laws and regulations that affect the company. Demonstrate and apply comprehensive knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Analyze, evaluate, solve and validate complicated or novel situations. Analyze multiple sources of information and dynamic material to solve problems. Work within own department and interacts with other departments. May have outreach responsibilities. Contribute to the achievement of Company objectives. B.A. and J.D. degree required. 10+ years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, corporation or government agency in a specific area of expertise required.
