Profile

Senior Associate General Counsel Duties: Responsible for a variety of complex assigned legal projects within the legal department. Respond to complex construction and professional liability claims including supervision of outside counsel, development of defense strategies and the management of legal expenses. Provide legal counsel and advice to internal clients on a broad range of legal topics to include: contract language, professional licensing and registration, pro-active risk management tactics, securities regulation, real estate, and the like. Advises and represents the Company in contract negotiations. Develops oral and written advice to management and processional staff. Negotiates and advises on new business ventures and transactional matters. Provides senior management with legal advice and information regarding risk management strategies. Act with substantial discretion, balancing several goals and projects at once with the goal of being a valuable yet measured advisor to the business.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Seasoned professional with an undergraduate degree and JD degree from recognized institutions, membership in good standing with the State Bar of California, and 12+ years of experience as a practicing attorney. A demonstration of excellence within a corporate environment or as counsel to a corporation. First class interpersonal and communication skills. Broad knowledge of law. Excellent judgment. Commitment to integrity and ethics. Proven legal counseling experience in a business environment. Preferred: Work experience with the architect, engineering and construction (A/E/C) industry. International experience, particularly in Canada or Australia. In-depth understanding of ow legal issues affect corporations. Knowledge of ESOP organizations.
