Please note: There are 2 positions available Candidates with 0-4 years of I-9 experience will be considered for the position of Client I-9 Representative Candidates with 5+ years of I-9 experience will be considered for the Client I-9 Specialist position Position can be based on site in South Bay, or in the BAL SF office with time spent on site OVERVIEW: The Client I-9 Specialist is responsible for providing I-9 services to BAL clients, ensuring rapid response and high customer satisfaction levels. The incumbent is required to travel to and work from customers sites and may receive direction from the client’s manager. The Client I-9 Specialist will work primarily with all aspects of day-to-day I-9 services such as I-9 questions, training and management/completion of client internal I-9 audits and will also assist with providing compliance training to BAL employees. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Under the supervision of the Client Services Manager/Compliance): • Represent BAL at client sites for the purpose of providing I-9 program support. • Provide guidance to clients in various I-9 related activities; including but not limited to employee orientations. • Assist in the development of educational materials, including but not limited to presentations and Q&As. • Provide I-9 and E-Verify compliance training to clients as well as BAL staff. • Respond to I-9 and E-Verify questions from BAL staff and clients; escalate more complex issues, as needed. • Assist with I-9 outsourcing support to BAL clients in the area of I-9 compliance. • Plan, oversee and conduct client I-9 audit projects; document I-9 audit results into the audit tool. • Run E-Verify queries and conduct any follow-up required to ensure compliance. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Under the supervision of the Client Services Manager/ Compliance) • Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Skills and Abilities: • Commitment to excellence and high standards • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and complete tasks rapidly • Acute attention to detail • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, electronically, or through other means to individuals and groups • Sensitivity to confidential information • Excellent verbal and writing communication skills Physical Requirements: • Able to maintain a sedentary position for up to 90% of the work day • Able to type and to grasp, grip, push and pull file drawers and doors • Able to walk and climb stairs or use elevator to coordinate with other departments • Able to bend, stoop, kneel and/or stand to access files and documents • Able to lift up to 25 lbs of files and/or boxes • Ability to travel locally and domestically to visit client sites Experience: • Representative: 0-4 years of I-9 compliance experience • Specialist: Minimum of 5 years I-9 compliance experience • 1-year administrative experience in a professional services industry, preferably in the area of Human Resources or Immigration Minimum Education Level: • Bachelor’s degree • Directly related experience will be considered in lieu of the degree
