ProfileLegal Aid Staff Attorney The candidate will provide civil legal services to low-income clients. Focus on the affordable housing crisis. Engage in local legislative, administrative, and other advocacy related to funding for affordable housing, long-term use restrictions, tenant protections, zoning, land use, manufactured home parks, and homelessness. Also provide leadership statewide. Admission to the state Bar or sitting for the next exam required. Excellent written and verbal advocacy skills required. Ability: to work effectively as part of a team; to think creatively when addressing the clients’ issues required. Strong interpersonal communication skills, positive attitude, and sense of humor required. Fluency in Spanish preferred. 5 – 20 years of experience required. Experience with complex advocacy on behalf of low-income individuals and groups required. Personal experience with poverty, disability, or any other minority status or affiliation required.
