Associate Attorney The candidate will handle cases from beginning to end. Communicate effectively and on a timely basis with clients to maintain good client relationship and to keep them informed about their cases (interaction requiring discretion and judgment). Handle advanced research and writing skills. Able to multitask, organize and prioritize with strong attention to detail, meeting deadlines and follow-up. Ability and confidence to work independently, but also collaborate and work well with others. Demonstrate flexibility. Interact with opposing counsel. Collaborate with Legal Support Personnel to ensure timely filing and processing of crucial documents. Court appearances and depositions. Daily input of billable hours in the firm’s timekeeping software (Timeslips), and strive to meet the required monthly billable hours. May assume responsibility for special projects and assist Managing Partner and other attorneys as needed. 1-5 years of experience in state civil litigation ( Note: law grads who have taken the state bar exam for the first time and are interested in clerking to develop into a potentially full-time position on bar passage are also encouraged to apply), with excellent knowledge and understanding of state’s Civil Procedure (Discovery, Law & Motion, Pre-trial and Trial Motion preparation, etc.) required. Exceptional research, writing, analytical, case management and communication skills; a strong academic record from an ABA-accredited law school; excellent advocacy and computer skills; an eye for detail; a stable job history required. In depth discovery and trial preparation experience preferred. Experience defending employment cases including misclassification, wage & hour and administrative hearings required.
