Business Development Associate The candidate will directly contribute to the overall growth and success of Private Client business. Reporting directly to the Head of Private Client Business Development, will be responsible for generating new business and new business leads focused primarily the New York metro area. Identify and cultivate private clients and client opportunities. Initiate contact with professional advisors that are in a position to recommend the services of the firm (to their end client). Implement an innovative and entrepreneur based approach to identifying new business opportunities for advisory professionals (Portfolio Managers and Strategic Advisors). Prepare and deliver presentations to both referral sources as well as direct prospects -- communicating all aspects of our firm and its advisory services. Participate in the development of new ideas, planning and execution of private client business development strategies with senior management and other team members. Maintain active referral source relationships and proactive efforts to develop new referral relationships and new business opportunities. Contribute to the development of prospect opportunities. Create and present marketing materials, as well as input to enhance the overall presence of company’s private client business. Build towards a firm command of company’s investment and service capabilities.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree with concentration in business administration, finance and / or economics. Advanced degree (MBA/JD/CFA) preferred. Must have 7+ years of job related experience. Should have strong knowledge of various classes and investment styles, asset allocation techniques, strategies and strategic tax, estate and trust planning. Must have ability to operate independently with a high level of direct responsibility, while maintaining strong ties to the client and investment philosophy of the firm. Strong interpersonal skills – ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of people are needed. Must have experience in developing new business using both traditional and alternative investment strategies.
