Oxnard office of our client seeks bankruptcy attorney with 1 year of experience. The candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to all stages of Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcies, as well as adversary proceedings and appellate work. Will supervise the maintenance and organization of files, design and engage in extensive legal research, ensure online use of CRM and case management software, input and maintain client files in BestCase software, conduct title and real property valuation and lien reports, interview clients and perform client intake assistance, attend 341(a) hearings, and appear at and argue motions in bankruptcy and adversary work. Serve in trial preparation, witness preparation, depositions and deposition defense, and bench trials in bankruptcy and Federal District court. Jointly manage 15 to 40 new bankruptcy cases per month through all life cycle stages of file, including designing creative Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases that make full use of the bankruptcy code and case law to protect clients. Prepare motions, letters and affidavits. Draft, revise, and file pleadings. Electronic filing of pleadings in CM/ECF. Communicate all events and developments to clients using multiple client systems and email (as well as SMS systems and mail as appropriate). Establish a strong follow-up system to ensure deadlines are not missed for which various pleadings must be served and filed and otherwise assist in dual calendaring of all events. Supervise proper calendaring of appearances and deadlines. Follow up with clients, opposing counsel, Trustees, court staff, and third parties on unfulfilled requests. Prepare senior attorney for hearings and appearances using case management and workflow systems. Should also have outstanding skills in BestCase and ease with web-based CRM, as well as general understanding of software systems to access and utilize client systems. Must preferably be proficient in Spanish and English.
