Director of Business Development Duties: Identify, select and strategically market to key prospects to begin the sales process and in particular, the next generation of decision makers within the restructuring groups at law firms, investment banks and financial advisors. Attend key ABI, TMA, and other industry conferences and events or sponsored client events to develop relationships and facilitate relationships among other industry professionals who have similarly aligned goals, while seeking industry feedback and monitoring competitor services, branding and marketing approaches. Develop and maintain an accurate list of prospects/clients as well as related activities on a weekly basis within Corporate Restructuring Management system. Educate clients and prospects regarding all of our corporate restructuring services via on-site client visits, conferences, events, etc. Build and communicate an understanding of other service offerings (i.e., Class Action and E-Discovery) to facilitate cross-selling opportunities. Schedule and hold meetings with key decision makers at targeted high-profile accounts, leveraging existing relationships and developing new ones with key decision-makers and influencers within targeted debtor’s counsel, financial advisory firms, investment bankers and private equity groups that deliver on revenue expectations. Identify key trends to identify top prospects and proactively pursue new business based upon predictions of future bankruptcy-related activity. Help build the messaging to these top prospects that incorporates capabilities in a holistic enterprise offering.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required. JD Degree , MBA or other advanced degree preferred. 6-8 years' practicing as a bankruptcy attorney, turn-around professional, or business development professional with experience selling to law firms, investment banks and other financial institutions is desired. Deep general business acumen, sophisticated judgment, and people leadership skills. Ability to operate successfully in an environment characterized by high pressure, tight deadlines, and frequent need to adapt. Polished executive presence with a high level of emotional maturity. Highly developed communication and management skills. Must be able to articulate value proposition and conduct presentations to professionals in a compelling and persuasive manner. A demonstrated ability to interface and conduct business conversations with law firms, investment bankers and financial advisors. The ability to collaborate internally to coordinate the selection of and approach to high potential prospects. An understanding of the bankruptcy and restructuring markets and processes. Sales background including the he ability to effectively transition a prospect into a selling/close discussion. Ability to network and develop personal and professional relationships.
