Compliance Officer - Cards Issues And Technology Change Management The candidate reporting to the head of the Cards Technology Implementation Compliance team, this role is critical to efforts to enhance compliance oversight of technology changes during and immediately after project execution. Key responsibilities include: Attending regular project meetings and providing real-time compliance advisory support to project managers and business sponsors; Monitoring the controls in place to manage compliance risks arising from technology projects; Identifying and escalating compliance issues during and after execution of technology projects; Communicating and coordinating matters with other Compliance Officers and other lines of defense. Other aspects of compliance management systems as required, such as regulatory change management, policies and procedures review and oversight, as well as complaints oversight and third-party compliance risk management. The job will offer prospective candidates opportunities to develop relationships and knowledge of systems and the practical application of regulatory requirements.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor's degree. Academic/professional qualifications in law, accounting and/or information technology will be desirable. Must have 5+ years of work experience in a financial institution, regulatory agency, or as a compliance, control or audit officer, preferably with experience in the credit card industry. Should have knowledge of consumer financial protection laws and regulations impacting the credit card industry, such as regulations relating to Privacy; Fair Lending; Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices; Fair Credit Reporting Act; and debt collection practices. Strong communication skills are needed. Should have strong written and oral communication skills. Background in technical project implementation and / or technology change management is preferred. Must have ability to critically review and analyze project specifications to ensure that they fully comply with all relevant laws and regulations and to anticipate and manage compliance issues as they arise. Should have ability to work with all levels of management and staff.
