Operational Risk Manager - Markets Risk and Control The candidate will assist in representing Markets businesses regarding sanctions matters globally, evaluate controls over sanctions-related processes, recommend enhancements as needed, oversee execution of regional and global risk assessments, and coordinate Markets' participation in special initiatives. Will interact with key stakeholders including personnel from Business Management, Sales, Accounts Control, ICG KYC Support Unit, Operations, and Technology, providing guidance to ensure that implementation of key policies is consistent with Bank standards. Liaise with Global Sanctions Compliance, as well as AML Advisory. Report to the Global Coordinator for AML and Sanctions Programs. Under the direction of Markets' Global Coordinator for AML and Sanctions Programs, work collaboratively with key stakeholders to identify and manage sanctions risks, manage execution of various sanctions initiatives, assess controls over sanctions screening, and identify opportunities to enhance sanctions controls and processes. Establish policies and procedures over sanctions screening processes, assess impact to Markets businesses of proposed changes to Bank policies, procedures, and standards, and work with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate implementation. Facilitate the establishment of sanctions BAU processes, as needed. Manage projects specific to certain sanctions work streams. Using PowerPoint and other software, assist in preparing presentations to update senior management on progress made on sanctions initiatives. Assist in setting the agenda and otherwise preparing for periodic sanctions program meetings. Facilitate the development of further sanctions controls, including metrics regarding volumes and trends, both domestic and global, for Markets. Handle and complete ad hoc sanctions-related tasks that frequently arise with little or no notice.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, accounting, or computer science (other fields to be considered as well). Advanced degree (Master's/J.D.) a plus. Must have 5+ years of securities/banking industry experience. Familiarity with institutional sales/trading preferred. Familiarity and/or experience with sanctions rules and regulations highly desirable, particularly with respect to sanctions programs administered by the US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control. Experience in designing control programs and knowledge of operational risk management principles needed. Should have Business knowledge, preferably in a banking, broker/dealer, technology and/or audit environment.
