Latam Regional Senior Counsel The candidate will provide litigation reporting and case support (including with respect to internal investigations), as well as corporate and banking law advice to businesses throughout Latin America. Must be familiar with consumer products and consumer protection related issues and be capable of litigation case management, either individually or as part of a team. Must also have significant knowledge of common and civil law systems to provide advice on cross-border corporate and commercial banking activities, as well as advice on conflict of law issues and bank market practices. Must be able to work seamlessly with the U.S. legal framework and the Latin American (i.e., code based) legal framework and possess strong English and Spanish writing skills. Support other regional attorneys in providing legal advice to senior management, senior bankers, and other senior lawyers throughout the organization. The candidates responsibilities in connection with the support of other regional attorneys will include: Litigation reporting and case management (including investigations); Legal advice on consumer and corporate banking products (including new products); Drafting of loan documents (notes, credit agreements, pledge agreements, etc.) for corporate lending transactions and support of transaction execution; Coordinating and working with senior product lawyers and in-house and external counsel in the review of new product programs and local initiatives in areas including capital markets, restructurings, and structured finance; Reviewing confidentiality agreements and other legal documents to ensure compliance with applicable local law and internal company policy; and Oversight/support of administrative matters for the regional legal department (case management reporting, budgeting, headcount and expense reporting, senior management presentations, roll out of new initiatives, etc).
