Senior Compliance Officer- Consumer AML Governance The candidate reporting line will be into Consumer AML Governance Director. Responsibilities will be to: Provide AML-related advice to the Global Consumer Businesses (GCB), ensuring AML standards are understood and implemented in the business; Develop, enhance and edit relevant AML compliance policies and guidelines for GCB; Conduct gap analysis and track closures of items for business implementation of AML policies; Conduct annual training needs assessment; develop AML-related training for consumer employees; Conduct GCB Enterprise-Wide and Horizontal risk assessments in conjunction with functional and business owners; Assist in collecting and analyzing documents and the preparation of reports related to risk assessments; Review and escalate significant AML/Sanctions issues and activities to senior management; Participate in reviewing and assessing new products for AML risk; Participate in governance committees and in preparation of materials for such committees; Review, analyze metrics and prepare reports related to key measurements of GCB’s AML activities; Assist in managing projects across AML Advisory; Maintain sufficient understanding of the products and services to recognize AML opportunities and leverage aspects of overall compliance programs; Understand and monitor the legal and regulatory environment through various methods to provide up-to-date knowledge and expertise on the legal and regulatory environment relevant to AML compliance and the retail bank.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree. Advanced degree (J.D., MBA) preferred. Should have 7 years of experience in consumer banking compliance, legal or other control-related function in the financial services industry. Must have strong knowledge and expertise of AML and Sanctions regulations, risks and typologies. Should have experience in the design and implementation of AML programs. Experience in producing and/or designing standard, cross category reporting packages for AML metrics are needed. Must have project management skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time. Should have experience with and previous exposure to internal control functions and regulators within the US, and in particular banking and AML regulators. Experience with a regulatory body a plus. Should have excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills. Must have an ability to lead and influence people across cultures at a senior level using sound judgment, successful execution of strategies; and with an understanding of how to operate effectively across diverse businesses.
