Wealth Specialist Candidate will advise business owners about strategic development of a business, including governance and preparing to sell their business. Defines, refines, and executes the bank’s business advisory strategy. Presents ideas to the clients about long and short term strategic development of their business and sale of a business to insiders (e.g. management buyout, ESOP, sale to partners) or external sale in the open market. Understands the psychology of working with business owners. Advises clients how to plan and prepare to sell a business. Provides objective, unbiased advice to the clients and prospects to help them meet financial goals. Applies sophisticated tax and accounting knowledge in recommending transactions to clients. Trains Sales Teams about the benefits of helping clients plan for sale of a business. Networks effectively to share capabilities within Bank, Middle Market, Business Banking. Has a network of national contacts in capital markets, business brokers, private equity. Refers clients to the bank’s Capital Markets team as appropriate. Cultivates relationships with Middle Market lenders and Business Bankers to advise their clients about sale of business.
Qualification and Experience
Candidate should have J.D. Degree, C.P.A., or advanced degree as appropriate for specialty subject area. 10+ years client advisory experience to business owners; demonstrated business experience advising business owners about the sale of a business. Experience working with high net worth clients, preferably in a Private Bank. Demonstrated agility working with capital markets, business brokers, private equity. Ability to transfer strategy to tactical plans and implement. Self motivated, goal and results driven. Strong influencing and team orientation skills. Expert Client Discovery Skills.
