LIHTC Syndication Manager Duties: Preparing and delivering the following underwriting documents associated with affordable housing developments to potential investors in syndicated funds: Investment Summary Analysis, closing legal documents, closing financial model, third party consultant reports and market studies, construction updates, guarantor analyses, and any other documents associated with underwriting affordable housing developments, Understanding and summarizing the performance of each affordable housing development, including each development’s relevant risks and mitigants, and answering investors’ questions related to risk, Travel related to facilitating site visits to affordable housing developments, Working with internal partners to investigate, understand and resolve underwriting issues associated with affordable housing developments under management, Drafting and sending notices and requests for consent to third parties (including lenders, housing authorities, and HUD) associated with affordable housing developments targeted for inclusion in a new syndicated fund, Working with outside counsel, internal partners, and external partners to draft and execute legal documentation to transfer affordable housing projects into new syndicated funds, Preparing and delivering post-closing notices to general partners and third parties, including post-closing transfer taxes and regulatory notices, Learning and using internal systems and databases to find relevant underwriting information and to generate underwriting reports, Occasionally assist other Fund Managers with post-close reporting required for closed syndicated funds.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, 5-8 years progressive analysis experience in finance or banking with an emphasis on real estate. Preferred: JD Degree / paralegal with 5+ years experience in commercial real estate or corporate transactional law, Prior experience underwriting or managing investments associated with Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Understanding of partnership tax concepts and/or partnership law and partnership legal documents, 4+ years prior relationship management experience, Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Ability to understand and interpret financial models based on IRR, XIRR, and MIRR, Excellent time-management skills, Understanding of partnership tax returns, Understanding of partnership financial statements, Self-starter able to work in environment with minimal direction.
