Profile

Business Development and Marketing Manager Candidate will work closely with the Firm’s attorneys and/or office leaders to develop, initiate, and implement industry-focused business development and marketing plans and will serve individual attorneys on the specific industry teams with business development and marketing needs. Lead the development and implementation of the Firm’s strategic approach to positioning for work in the Firm’s top priority industry sectors – particularly with respect to issues-based campaigns. Develop and implement a program to sharpen lawyers’ knowledge and capability with respect to important issues and trends in the Firm’s top priority industry sectors. Point of contact for initiating, directing, and providing business development and marketing support, providing strategic guidance and proactive recommendations for the development, implementation, and management of business development and marketing plans, materials, communications, and client programs. Support Business Development Leaders, laterals, target teams and individual attorneys in assigned areas with business development (plans, cross-selling, research, RFP responses/pitches/presentations) and marketing (client events, alerts, experience lists, and other customized materials) for Firmwide and other development targets and opportunities as they arise. Work closely with the Public Relations and Communications teams to identify and leverage media opportunities, plan internal messaging to inform and promote cross-selling, work collaboratively with the Credentialing Specialist to prepare submissions to rankings and directories that are most beneficial, collaborate with the appropriate communications team members to maintain accurate and effective web content, and contribute to the development of thought leadership client deliverables. Act as an exemplary department citizen by teaming proactively with peers, Marketing Managers, Business Development and Marketing Administrators and other functional specialists to integrate plans across practices and offices, escalating potential issues, sharing ideas and deliverables, volunteering for special projects, reporting on activities, updating tracking databases, addressing conflicts earnestly, and promoting team capabilities and successes.

Qualification and Experience

Candidate should have a Bachelor's degree. MBA or JD is a plus. Senior professional experience with 7+ years of marketing, business development and/or practice development experience is required. Law firm or other professional service experience is desired. Proven experience developing and executing successful go-to-market programs based on industry needs is essential. Candidate should be familiar with the assigned practice groups, industries, and/or geographies.
