Rights Analyst The candidate will be responsible for assisting the attorneys in the Rights Group in providing advice to the company distribution and other exploitation businesses regarding the company’s rights in its entertainment content. Searching and reviewing existing corporate databases, the internet and other sources for product information about certain titles. Locating and pulling files, documents and other information needed for rights research on company’s properties. Working with the Group’s attorneys in analyzing contracts and other documents to determine the company's rights in its entertainment products. Drafting responses to clients regarding company’s rights. Entering rights analyses into the Group’s rights database.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have B.A., B.S. or higher degree OR comparable work experience (3+years in legal or entertainment area). Excellent computer skills (including Microsoft Office, internet sources, and ability to master many new applications / databases). Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA. Must be willing to submit to a background investigation. Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. Familiarity with the entertainment business and knowledge of entertainment contracts. Legal background (J.D. or paralegal (or comparable work) experience) is a significant plus. Outstanding academic credentials. Excellent analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Superior organizational skills and ability to pay attention to detail. Ability to juggle multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a responsible, thorough manner. Good business judgment and ability to see the big picture. Experience using computer databases. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Ability to be a "team player".
