Legal Writers Wanted Duties: Contribute well-written, informative articles to portfolio of legal websites. Writers must be able to read statutes, understand legal issues, and put the law into plain English for a general audience.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Law Degree and 3+ years of experience as a practicing lawyer. A lawyer with experience in any of the following: bankruptcy, consumer debt issues, student loan debt, or credit reporting. (For each of these categories, apply under Bankruptcy & Debt). An attorney actively practicing immigration law (preferably non-business side) -- in particular, seeking knowledge of overlap with criminal codes as well as advanced naturalization issues. Experience in property transactions, including all aspects of buying and selling. Estate planning experience in the field of asset protection for Medicaid planning purposes. Significant small business law experience. Experience as a prosecutor or criminal defense attorney. Juvenile court experience also welcomed. Strong research and fact-checking skills. Ability to write in an authoritative, neutral tone. Ability to translate legal concepts into articles and FAQs that can be easily understood by a consumer audience.
