Litigation - Foreclosure (Lender-side)

Associate Attorney, IP Litigation Responsibilities : The candidate will be responsible for interpreting and applying law as it relates to prosecuting and defending clients interests in complex IP litigation relating to patent, copyright, trademark, domain name, freedom of information, and e-commerce disputes. Will be preparing and responding to letters of demand. Drafting motions, briefs, and other trial documents. Arguing motions in state and federal courts. Participating in administrative hearings before patent and trademarks offices (including WIPO, IP Australia and the USPTO). Researching patent, trademark, copyright and privacy law. Designing and supervising discovery and document review. Providing IP advice to clients in cross-border transactions across the Asia-Pacific region, including conducting due diligence on IP divestment and acquisition issues. Auditing international patent and trademark portfolios of Australian, American, and Asian companies. Negotiating and drafting patent, trademark, and copyright assignment agreements. Negotiating and drafting settlement agreements. Providing trademark clearance searches and prosecuting trademark applications before IP Australia and the USPTO. Managing international trademark portfolios for multinational companies. Advising on employment agreements, independent contractor agreement and insurance agreements with a particular focus on IP rights. Requirements : The candidate should have an LL.M. degree and an undergraduate degree in a Life Science discipline. Must have two (2) years of previous experience in the position offered or directly related to handling intellectual property matters, particularly in relation to complex patent litigation for multinational companies and in advising on IP issues in cross-border transactions. Must be admitted to practice law in Australia and California. Must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service.
