Research and Reference Librarian Duties: Provide legal research and reference assistance and instruction to NSU College of Law and University faculty, staff, students, student edited journals, alumni, the local bar, and public. Provide reference, research support, and collection services for all legal materials. Provide general government document and international reference assistance and research instruction. Participate as a member of the law library Outreach Services team, creating and promoting innovative services to faculty, students, alumni, the local bar, and public. Serves as a reference librarian at the law library Reference Desk on a weekly basis, scheduled for approximately 16 hours per week. Occasional weekend and evening reference is required. Conduct workshops and research instruction on legal research topics for faculty, students, and others. Teach first year law students to cost effectively use Westlaw and Lexis as well as other electronic and print resources. Prepare user guides, bibliographies, and instructional materials for legal topics. Prepare presentations and articles for legal education in university or other publications. Serve as a member of the law library Faculty Liaison program. Create library displays. Serve on local, regional, and national law library related organizations and committees. And other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification: Must have JD degree. M.L.S. from an ALA Accredited Library School or experience providing reference in a law library is essential. Recent experience with integrated library systems is needed. Application deadline: January 29, 2017.
