Human Rights Officer The candidate will be responsible for conducting investigations of complaints filed with the City of Decatur alleging violations of the Unlawful Discrimination Ordinance set forth by Chapter 28 in the City Code, in the areas of housing, employment, and public accommodation. Must have a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in social or behavioral sciences; a J.D. degree is preferred. Must have 1-3 years of experience in community relations/human services work which deals with equal opportunity issues, equal employment opportunity enforcement, fair housing and/or investigation of discrimination or other related disputes or experience with an equal opportunity enforcement agency; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. May substitute 3 years of experience in law enforcement, human services or other human rights investigation experience for a college degree.
