Senior Consultant – Justice and Home Affairs The candidate will be responsible for contributing to the development and delivery of accurate, timely, and high quality products and services. Will be working on multiple projects and interact with all levels of staff, working on research, evaluation and impact assessment projects within the policy framework of the European Commission (Directorates Justice and Home Affairs). Serves in policy priorities in Home Affairs such as Migration, International Protection and Asylum, Police co-operation, Border Control, Organised Crime, Internal Security and Counter-terrorism. Win, manage and deliver employment and social policy contracts for the European Commission, governments, agencies and stakeholders. Build and maintain relationships with a range of key clients in this particular field. Manage project teams and subcontractors, taking responsibility for meeting client needs within quality, time and budget constraints. Market the company at client meetings, events and networking groups through presentation of papers on pertinent topics. Develop expertise and intellectual property within the company on employment and social policy and contribute to the development of the market strategies in these policy fields. Assist in the training, development and mentoring of more junior staff.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Master’s degree in law, public policy, international relations, economics, or related discipline. Must have 5–9 years of specific subject area professional experience. Experience of evaluation of public policies, feasibility and impact assessments essential. Experience in winning and successfully delivering research and evaluation projects and contracts for the European Commission, governments, agencies and stakeholders needed. Project management experience, preferably including large, international projects essential. In-depth knowledge of policies in Justice and Home Affairs and related areas in the European context essential. Advanced working knowledge and application of Microsoft Office Suite needed.
