Lawyer Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the senior attorney, review and revise vendor and customers agreements. Review technical proposals from vendors. Assist internal groups on negotiations with vendors. Research legal issues. Interpret laws and regulations as applicable to Evertec and/or its customers. Performs duties through methods and actions that are consistently ethical and in total compliance with the laws, applicable regulations, Code of Ethics, corporate policies and guidelines and rules of conduct. Completes corporate trainings and certifications intended for the detection and prevention of money laundering related activities and fraud, insider training and conflict of interest policies and procedures, as applicable.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: A minimum of a completed bachelor’s degree is required; in Accounting, Finance, Management, Economy, Computer Science or Engineering is highly preferred. A JD degree from accredited law school with 2-4 years of related experience is required. Bilingual (English and Spanish): excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish are required. Knowledgeable on: non-disclosure agreements, professional service agreements for information technology services, PR Government service agreements, customer IT agreements, software License agreements, payment processing agreements, among others types of contracts. Also, knowledgeable on state and federal laws and regulations related to the financial and payment service sector. Must have license authorizing to practice law from the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico Notary License highly desirable. Proficient in English and Spanish, both written and verbal. Knowledge of local and federal laws, legal codes, court procedures, administrative legal procedures, legal cases precedents, local and federal government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules. Knowledge of contract drafting and negotiations on one or more of the following: non-disclosure agreements, professional service agreements for information technology services, PR Government service agreements, customer IT agreements, software License agreements, payment processing agreements, among others types of contracts. Knowledge of applicable local and federal laws and regulations.
