Associate Attorney - Elder Law Responsibilities: Advise clients on all aspects of Elder Law/Medicaid planning. Prepare and advise clients on Elder Law/Estate Planning documents such as advance directives, Wills, Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts. Prepare and file Medicaid home care and nursing home care applications. Handle all aspects of Estate and Trust administration including filing of probate proceedings in Surrogates court. Provide sophisticated legal analysis and arrive at practical solutions for clients. Contribute to the growth of the firm. Maintain high levels of professional conduct and ethics. Meet regularly and communicate effectively with clients. Conduct effective legal research. Work effectively with people, including colleagues, support staff and others.

Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited law program and a member of New York Bar. 2+ years of experience in elder law, estate planning and estate administration. Strong knowledge of laws, court procedures, case law research, precedents, and government regulations related to elder law, Medicaid, trust & estates, estate planning, estate and trust administration, estate litigation, and tax planning. Empathetic to clients and enjoy helping people solve challenging life problems. Client service oriented with the ability to assess client needs and deliver high quality services. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Organized, team player who is considerate and able to work well with others. Self-motivated and proactive in organizing work, able to anticipate issues. Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills. Strong work ethic with high personal standards for both quality and quantity of work Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, Hot Docs and internet-based legal databases.
