Legal- Assistant General Counsel- US- Marco Markets & Sales- VP Duties: Review, summarize and analyze the practical and strategic effects on the Firm’s business of regulations affecting the derivatives market with a focus on derivatives clearing and trade execution requirements Interact with the Firm’s markets businesses, clients and middle office to address day to day questions relating to transactional and documentation matters Interact with the Firm’s markets businesses, derivatives clearing business, and risk group to assess the impact of participation on derivatives clearinghouses and trading platforms, and relationships with other market utilities Draft, review and negotiate the Firm’s agreements with industry consortia and market utilities to ensure (i) antitrust/competition issues are addressed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and the Firm’s policies, (ii) commercial terms reflect the needs of all stakeholders within the Firm, and (iii) other legal and regulatory considerations are addressed and communicated to the impacted businesses. Represent the interests of JPMorgan Chase in a wide variety of business related legal matters through engagement in industry associations and dialogue with regulators Be part of a successful, well-established team of professionals who will provide you with extensive training and on the job support. Assist in advising various businesses within the Firm on antitrust matters and legal or regulatory issues that arise through the Firm’s relationships with technology companies and other third parties.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: Law Degree/JD Degree. Must be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based or otherwise in compliance with the in-house counsel registration rules of that state/jurisdiction. 5+ years relevant legal experience. Previous experience in derivatives. Experience developing and maintaining internal and external client relationships. Experience preparing legal documentation. Excellent communications skills - both verbal and written. Experience in financial regulation is a plus.
