Product Counsel Duties: Advise the product development teams within global product team, a dynamic organization - of product managers, engineers, designers, analysts, and operations specialists - responsible for getting more riders, more drivers, and more trips on the platform, around the world. Embed in the product teams advise; serve as the single point of contact for these teams on legal issues collaborate closely with others in Legal to provide excellent advice; and solve their legal problems quickly. Review global products, features, and initiatives to assess legal compliance across multiple jurisdictions, from the early stages of product development through launch. Issue spot and provide wide-ranging legal advice to product teams, on a wide range of issues including: data privacy, consumer protection, data protection, intellectual property litigation risk, marketing, transactional and commercial law, licensing, and antitrust.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Admission in and good standing with one or more State's Bar. 5 years of meaningful legal experience: Significant in-house experience product counseling as it relates to privacy and consumer protection preferred. Experience as a technology lawyer with a wide range of knowledge and experience across the substantive legal areas relevant to international product development (see above). Knowledgeable about software development and generally tech-savvy. Excellent business judgment, communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
