Cutting-edge law firm seeks experienced Staff Accountant to join their team! This position offers job security, flexibility, work-life balance, and competitive salary. Candidates should have 7 to 10 years of experience working with the general ledger and financial statements. The applicant should have a degree in Accounting or comparable experience. Must have experience with the full accounting cycle in all areas of accounting including, but not limited to, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Trust Accounting, etc. The Senior Staff Accountant must have experience with fully integrated accounting software and be willing to do detail oriented, hands-on work. Must have a good understanding of technology, preferably including the implementation of various software tools and the development of management reporting. Candidates must have excellent PC skills and the ability to use MS Office with advanced skills in Excel. The Senior Staff Accountant must be organized and have the ability to handle a high volume of work while maintaining a high degree of accuracy without constant supervision. Previous law firm experience is preferred. The Senior Staff Accountant reports directly to the managing Partner. Position Responsibilities: •General ledger account reconciliations •Prepares monthly financial statements and projection •Development and maintenance of reporting tools • Maintain Client Trust Accounts •Oversee monthly accounting of partners separate entities •Assist with year-end reporting and tax schedules •Cross-train with all other positions in Accounting to provide assistance when needed •Manage ACH/credit card process •Implement and oversee various internal control functions •Special projects as assigned by the Partners Position Knowledge and Attributes: •Knowledge of plaintiff law firm practices preferred but not required •Knowledge of Juris Software preferred but not required •Knowledge of standard business processes and business operations. •Knowledge of accounting applications and full accounting cycle. •Highly self-motivated, self-directed and attentive to detail. •Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. •Ability to handle a high volume of work, while maintaining accuracy •Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of technology and the ability to develop technology. •Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
