Contract Legal Administrative Assistant

The legal assistant will be responsible for supporting three associates, and will have a high degree of responsibility for project management and implementation. The work consists primarily of workers' compensation litigation and transcribing dictation. will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, editing and proofreading a variety of documents. Transcribing dictation, minutes of meetings or taped records of conferences and meetings. Scheduling doctor appointments and managing the clients throughout the process. Setting up depositions, and coordinating meetings. Providing administrative support to the partners of the firm. Establishing and maintaining paper and electronic files in compliance with the current firm policies utilizing the firm's Time Matters system. Inputting information from medical records, statements of charges, client and witness statements, and lost-wage documentation: filing physical copies: logging incoming mail, contacting medical providers, insurance companies, and others. Fostering professional, cooperative and supportive relationships with peers, superiors and clients.

Associate's degree or certification in related field preferred. The candidate should have 3+ years of legal administrative assistant experience in a medium sized law firm. Should be a legal assistant/legal secretary with outstanding skills in communication, organization and experience with workers' compensation and/or personal injury litigation matters. Excellent administrative writing skills are required. Advanced proficiency in MS Word and Word Perfect, and typing speed of 70+ words per minute is required.  

Commercial Litigation - Legal Administrative Assistant

The candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills are key as well as exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as to function as part of an effective team is required. In this role will be drafting correspondence and legal documents; communicating with clients, counsel and others; managing work flow and juggling priorities, as well as handling the administrative functions of the practice.
