Telecommunications Attorney Job Description

Telecommunications attorneys are known for providing timely, effective and industry-specific advice to their clients as they are in the industry characterized by rapid regulatory and technological change. The attorneys should have legal qualifications and substantial work experience. Lawyers wishing to specialise in the field of telecommunications law can opt for e-LL.M. Telecommunication attorneys deal with clients including major telcos, television broadcasters, government agencies, regulators, equipment suppliers, print and digital publishers, online service providers, new media companies, content providers, media personalities and their agents. They need to have good understanding of the law, the technology, and the evolving business models. Familiarity with the interlocking laws that affect one of the fastest growing and rapidly changing industries in the country is also essential. Preparedness to appear before the FCC, FTC, and PUC, before state and federal courts, and before municipal and local governmental agencies is a must to succeed in this position. Updated knowledge of commercial, technological and regulatory developments becomes inevitable for lawyers to ensure that their clients are provided with maximum opportunities and faced with minimum risks. Having necessary technical capacities is a must for telecommunications attorneys. Willingness to comply with the provisions of industrial law and the provisions on working conditions applicable in the sector is essential.
