'A criminal law paralegal is a paralegal who works in the area of criminal law. Some criminal law paralegals work for private defense firms that represent individuals accused of committing crimes. Other criminal law paralegals work for state and federal agencies that prosecute people accused of committing crimes. Criminal law paralegals assist criminal law attorneys with a wide variety of tasks, including communicating with clients, helping draft pleadings to be filed in state and federal court, and helping lawyers prepare for trials. Because criminal law paralegals are not attorneys and have not been admitted to the bars of any state, criminal law paralegals must always work under the direction of a practicing attorney. Here are a few sample Criminal Law Paralegal job descriptions: Criminal Law Paralegal The candidate must have Police Station Accreditation. Criminal Casework experience is needed. Criminal Law Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for overseeing cases, tracking deadlines, submitting documents, drafting documents, tracking your time, and many other standard responsibilities of a paralegal. Experience in the legal field is required. Must be an independent, self-motivated individual who has outstanding organizational skills and is able to manage a busy law practice. Immigration and Criminal Law Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate will join the immigration and criminal defense law firm dedicated to immigrants from all over the United States. Excellent writing and research skills are required. Criminal Law Paralegal The candidate must have experience working for criminal law firm. Need skills in drafting, should thrive in fast-paced environment, and willing to help with variety of office-related tasks. Criminal Law Paralegal The candidate must have 3+ years of experience in a legal setting, be confident working in a fast-paced environment. Should have knowledge in Criminal Law and its many intricacies. Must have experience with the following court related knowledge: preparing/filing motions, e-filing, and coordinating hearings. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish. Criminal Law Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for preparing and filing misdemeanor and felony court pleadings; speaking with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and probation officers; and managing attorneys' calendars and interviewing clients. Accepting payments and managing accounts receivable; preparing case files for court appearances' and performing general paralegal duties. Criminal law experience is preferred. Excellent telephone skills are required. Criminal Law Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for: assisting with casework; attending clients, taking instructions and preparing cases; dealing with correspondence; maintaining accurate time costing procedures; implementing any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews ensuring that these are dealt with promptly; and ensuring compliance with file management. Must demonstrate passion and experience in a broad range of public funded Criminal Law. Should have a strong academic background with a Law degree. Legal experience as a Crime Caseworker/Advisor is required. Clear understanding and application of Criminal Law is needed. An ability to market the firm is essential. Experience in Criminal Appeals work is also desirable.'
