According to its website, Auburn University Montgomery has been offering an American Bar Association-approved Paralegal Certificate program for nearly 20 years. Offered through the university's Department of Justice and Public Safety, three ABA-approved certification options are available to students interested in legal careers.

The Paralegal Studies Programs at the University of Great Falls, Great Falls, MT

The University of Great Falls is a private, four-year Catholic university located in one of the most beautiful regions of the United States: the "Big Sky Country" of Montana. Under the leadership of the Sisters of Providence, the University of Great Falls upholds the Providence Leadership Covenant, which emphasizes the core values of respect, justice, compassion, charity, simplicity, and excellence. The Legal Studies Program at Syracuse University's University College, Syracuse, NY

University College, the continuing education campus of Syracuse University, has a long history of serving the needs of students who wish to continue their educations by earning certifications and post-baccalaureate degrees. Ground was laid for Syracuse University's future in extended education in 1933, when a UCITA extension center opened on the Syracuse campus. According to the University College website, 13 years later, in 1946, the school of extension was reorganized to form University College, fulfilling the university's aims to better serve part-time adult students working at other jobs and grant adult education equal status with education at the other Syracuse University colleges and schools. Various certification and post-baccalaureate programs were added to the repertoire of University College's offerings, and in 1979, the Legal Assistant Certificate Program was formed with the help of the New York State and Onondaga County bar associations.

The campus of California State University, Los Angeles, is located in an ideal California setting. Cal State L.A. is close to the metropolis of downtown Los Angeles, with a view of the beautiful San Gabriel Mountains. Students have access to the surrounding areas via two major freeways, a bus system, and the only Metrolink commuter rail station on a Southern California campus. The school's convenient central location is only a short distance from attractions such as Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Sports Arena and Coliseum, the MOCA Museum of Contemporary Arts, Los Angeles' refurbished Chinatown and Little Tokyo, the recently reopened Griffith Park Observatory, and the famous Rose Bowl.

The Center for Advanced Legal Studies, Houston, TX

According to their website, the Center for Advanced Legal Studies is ''the only ABA approved and accredited college in Texas that specializes in paralegal education.'' The center was founded in 1981, in San Antonio, TX. In 1987, the Houston branch of the center opened after being granted an operation license by the Texas Education Agency. In the same year, the center was accredited by the Commission on Occupational Education Institutions Division of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The center went on to gain further recognition, including accreditation by the Council on Occupational Education and approval by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in 1992 and the American Bar Association in 1998.
