Dewey's Estate Wants To Get Rid of Client Files

Dewey's estate is claiming that it does not have the funds to keep the huge amount of client files that it has and wants the bankruptcy court to give it the option of getting rid of them.

Dewey's estate is still in control of thousands of client files that it has kept in several storage facilities across New York. The estate wants to give the former clients 45 days to collect their files after which the files will be disposed off “in the manner it deems fit”.

Law firms are legally obliged to save the files for five to seven years and give a 90 day notice period before disposing them off. But Dewey's estate is claiming that since the firm no longer exists, the rules don't apply to it. The firm is willing to give another 30 days to its former clients if they contact Dewey within 45 days, but the shipping costs will have to be borne by the clients.

Be observant. Are there pictures on the desk? Who's in the pictures? Trophies, awards? For what? Art? What kind? Be aware for small talk later on.
