Through the Oxford Plan, which was established with assistance from OCU School of Law faculty members, students can complete their Bachelor's and Juris Doctor degrees in just six years. A joint JD/MBA program is also available to students through a collaborative effort with Oklahoma City University's Meinders School of Business (MSB).
In addition to these options and the traditional JD option, students can also earn certificates in American Indian Law, Client Representation in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Health Law, Public Law, and Business Law with concentration options in electronic commerce or financial services and commercial law. The law school also offers a Certificate in American Law for Chinese students and lawyers.
The law school's centers include the Center on Alternative Dispute Resolution: Early Settlement Mediation and the Center for the Study of State Constitutional Law and Government. The Native American Legal Resource Center is also available to provide a range of services to tribal governments within Oklahoma and beyond.
OCU's clinical offerings, which exist to serve the community while also providing students with the opportunity to gain real-life experience, consist of the Immigration Law Clinic, the Oklahoma Innocence Clinic, and the American Indian Wills Clinic.
With more than 30 student organization offerings, students have ample opportunity to socialize, network, and meet other students with similar interests. Student organizations include the Agricultural and Environmental Law Association, the Animal Law Group, the Criminal Law Association, the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, and the Native American Law Students Association. Qualified students can also involve themselves with the student edited journal, The Oklahoma City Law Review.
Through the Professional and Career Development Center, students and graduates can obtain access to career guidance services, individual counseling, interview preparation assistance, and other crucial professional development resources.
For first-year students who need assistance transitioning into law school, OCU Law offers the Study for Success Program. The program, which was developed by the Department of Academic Achievement, is composed of the following segments: the 1L Book Club, Foundational Skills Workshops, Student Led Reviews, Midpoint to Success, and Individualized Tutoring.
In addition to the aforementioned offerings, the law school also offers summer fellowship opportunities, internships, and International study programs in Buenos Aires, China, Spain, and the Netherlands/ Switzerland. The study abroad programs are offered in conjunction with Stetson University College of Law, the University of Tulsa College of Law, the Mercer University Walther F. George School of Law, and the Charleston School of Law.
