The firm was established in 1997 by Mike Evers, who has placed more than 150 attorneys within corporate legal departments during the past 17 years. As someone with a great understanding of the merits of an in-house legal career, Evers is regularly called upon to speak on the topic. He also writes the Career Advice column for InsideCounsel. Prior to entering the recruiting industry, Evers practiced with Blank Rome as an employment law associate.
Meredith Haydon joined Evers Legal Search in 1999 after spending nine years working with executive search firms and 11 years running her own attorney placement practice. She is a former board member of the National Association of Legal Search Consultants.
Maricar Tinio joined the firm in 2009, bringing with her corporate legal department, financial institution, and major law firm experience. Before entering the recruiting field she practiced as a litigation attorney in Chicago. She is currently a member of the Asian American Bar Association of Chicago, the National Association of Asian American Professionals, and the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation.
Evers Legal Search can also serve legal departments that wish to in-source work on a non-headcount basis. These cost-saving services are particularly beneficial to short-staffed clients or those are dealing with a hiring freeze. Evers Legal Search can provide clients with access to experienced in-house attorneys who work at hourly or fixed fee rates on the Evers’ payroll through Evers Counsel.
Each year Evers Legal Search also takes on a few worthy candidates for law firm placement. Representative firms have included DLA Piper, Duane Morris, Holland + Knight, and others.
